Common mistakes
- Decimal inches are not fractions: 11.81 in is about 11 13/16 in on a fractional tape, not "11 and 81".
- Dual-unit rules round their equivalents: IFAB prints 68 cm as 27 in, but 68 cm is only about 26.77 in.
