Privacy policy

This policy explains what happens to information when you use DailyCalc (https://dailycalc-57y.pages.dev). The short version: your calculations run on your own device, we do not ask for an account, and we do not sell data.

Calculations stay on your device

The numbers and text you enter into our tools are processed by code running in your browser. They are not sent to our servers. If you use “Share link”, your inputs are placed in the page address so the link reproduces your calculation; anyone you share that link with can see those values. Text you paste into our text and developer tools (and any password you generate) is never put in the page address.

Your location. The sunrise and sunset calculator can ask your browser for your location, only when you press “Use my location”. The coordinates are rounded and used in your browser to do the calculation; they are not sent to us or anyone else.

What we store in your browser

We use your browser’s local storage (not cookies) to remember a few preferences. All keys start with dc::

  • dc:theme: light or dark mode, if you chose one.
  • dc:prefs: your unit system, currency, number format and decimal places.
  • dc:tool:…: units you last chose on a converter.
  • dc:recent and dc:favorites: tools you used recently or starred, shown on the homepage.
  • dc:api:…: a cached copy of public reference data (for example exchange rates) so pages work offline.
  • dc:consent: your cookie choice, only if a consent banner is shown.

You can clear these at any time through your browser’s site data settings. Nothing in them identifies you.

Third-party services your browser may contact

  • Hosting and delivery (Cloudflare). Our pages are served by a content delivery network, which processes standard request data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and protect against abuse.
  • Exchange rates and metal prices (Frankfurter, api.frankfurter.dev). Only on the currency converter and the Zakat calculator, your browser requests public reference rates (including gold and silver prices) directly from this service. The request includes the currencies you chose and, like any web request, your IP address. No other data is sent.

Each page lists its data source next to the result. We only use services that are free, need no secret key and allow this kind of use.

Analytics and advertising

We do not use analytics that track you.

We do not show ads. If we add advertising in future, we will update this page and ask for consent where required.

Embedded calculators

When one of our calculators is embedded on another website, it works the same way: calculations happen in your browser. The other website’s own privacy policy covers the rest of that page.

Children

Our site is for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
