How to use
- Enter the amount and choose the currencies to convert from and to.
- The latest reference rate loads, with its date.
- Tap ⇄ to swap, or pick a popular pair.
- Have a quote from your bank or card? Open Use your own exchange rate and type it in.
How the conversion works
Converted amount = amount × rate
Rate (A → B) = (B per US dollar) ÷ (A per US dollar)
- We load one table of rates against the US dollar and work out every other pair from it.
- The rate’s date is the older of the two currencies’ dates.
- The table is saved in your browser for up to 12 hours. If the rates can’t load, saved rates up to 30 days old are used and labelled.
Example
On 21 Oct 2026 the reference rates were 0.89059 euros and 94.71 rupees per US dollar.
- EUR → INR: 94.71 ÷ 0.89059 = 106.35 rupees per euro
- 100 USD → INR: 100 × 94.71 = 9,471 rupees
Rates change every day, so use the live result above, not these figures.
Reference rate vs the rate you get
- Reference (mid-market) rate: the rate this page shows, halfway between buying and selling prices.
- Your bank or card rate: usually the mid-market rate plus a margin, and there may be fees on top.
To see what a transfer really costs, compare the provider’s rate with the reference rate. The gap is their margin.
Where the rates come from
Rates come from Frankfurter, a free open-source service. It blends daily reference rates published by central banks and other official sources, and leaves out outliers.
They are for information only, not an offer to buy or sell. Check with your provider before you exchange money.
