How to use
- Pick the date you’re counting down to, or tap a holiday.
- Counting from starts as today. Change it to count from another day.
- Read the days left, plus weeks, months and the weekday it falls on.
How the countdown works
days until = target date − today
- Tomorrow is 1 day away, and the day itself shows Today.
- A holiday always uses its next date on or after the counting-from day.
- A date that has passed shows how many days ago it was.
Moving holidays:
- Easter Sunday is the first Sunday after the church’s official full moon on or after 21 March. We use the standard Gregorian (Western) calculation, which matches the UK government’s bank holiday dates.
- Thanksgiving (US) is the fourth Thursday in November, set by US federal law.
Example
From Wednesday, 21 October 2026 to Christmas Day, Friday 25 December 2026:
- 65 days
- 9 weeks and 2 days
- 2 months and 4 days

More about the count
The count runs from the day after “counting from” up to and including the target day. To include today as well, add 1.
Orthodox churches calculate Easter with the Julian calendar, so their Easter can fall on a different date.
Hours are days × 24, so they ignore the 23- or 25-hour days when clocks change.
Counting between any two dates? Use the days between dates calculator. For birthdays, the age calculator also counts down to your next one.
